Join us in celebrating the remarkable 50-year journey of Yamaha YZ history! Over the past five decades, Yamaha has been at the forefront of motocross innovation, consistently pushing the boundaries of performance, refinement, and design to maintain the YZ’s position as a premier choice in the sport.
In our latest campaign, we pay tribute to Yamaha’s rich legacy of innovation and excellence, highlighting the evolutionary journey of the YZ through the decades. From its humble beginnings to its current status as an industry-leading dirt bike, the YZ has undergone continuous refinement and reinvention, setting new standards in motocross with each iteration.
As part of our celebration, we unveil the exciting new heritage livery, a nod to Yamaha’s iconic racing heritage and a testament to the brand’s enduring commitment to pushing the limits of performance and style. This nostalgic design pays homage to the classic Yamaha racing colors of the past, while incorporating modern elements to ensure the YZ remains at the forefront of contemporary motocross design.

At the heart of our campaign is the legendary Damon Bradshaw, a fearless racer whose iconic battles on the track have become the stuff of motocross legend. Bradshaw’s unyielding determination and aggressive racing style captivated audiences around the world, earning him a place in the pantheon of motocross greats. Leveraging the expertise of GearShift co-founder and creative director, Eric Cwiertny, who played a pivotal role in Yamaha’s past campaigns featuring Bradshaw 30 years ago, we bring this legendary legacy to life in our 50th YZ campaign.
Central to our campaign is the introduction of the 90s-inspired livery, prominently featuring Bradshaw in our TV spot and throughout our promotional material. This nostalgic design not only celebrates Yamaha’s storied racing history but also serves as a powerful reminder of the brand’s enduring legacy of innovation and performance.

To mark this momentous occasion, Yamaha hosted a special press event at the original track where the first Bradshaw campaign was filmed, with Bradshaw himself in attendance. Additionally, Yamaha’s MX team showcased the 50th anniversary bikes at the inaugural SuperMX event at the iconic LA Coliseum, further solidifying the YZ’s status as a legendary icon in the world of motocross.
